Unhappy help installing TinyXP - 01-12-2009, 05:06 AM

Hi, I was wondering if any of you have been able to actually install TinyXP from a USB stick? I've spent literally days to this and just cant get it to work... just wondering if its at all possible.
TinyXP does'nt have the typical structure of a "normal" wxp disc...
any help will be great! thank you guys!

Is your Mini 9 "seeing" the stick when you boot, or is the trouble with how the software is acting?

I initially didn't see in the BIOS where you can set a particular USB device to be the boot device.
It drove me nuts trying to run my Ghost-enabled flash drive after I installed another internal flash drive inside my Mini 9.

Good luck with your project. It sounds interesting.

I hope you get it worked out.

I'm also going to move this down to the Windows XP forums in hopes that some of our Windows experts see it and can help out.

Keep in mind that some usb thumbdrives can cause problems and don't boot up right or it could be related to something you removed during the tinyxp configuration. Did you create the iso file first and then burnt it?

I know that it didn't work well for me when I tried using the tinyxp built in writer. Instead I created the iso first and used Nero to burn it.

Have you tried using the HP Utility to make the thumbdrive bootable?
