One example is that CCleaner and Wise Cleaner get rid of Windows update source files for you. After the updates are installed, you don't need the downloaded source files anymore, and they take up a lot of space! Also, a lot of times when a program is uninstalled, Windows misses some of the registry entries, shortcuts, etc. Those programs seem to be better at finding and removing them.
