If you use Magical Jellybean Keyfinder http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.html it will report RCBF6-6KDMK-GD6GR-K6DP3-4C8MT as the key. Google the key I posted above, you will see what I mean. If you are still running any stock Dell systems with XP Home run Jellybean and see what it reports. I have however installed from a Dell XP Pro CD and this works fine, doesn't ask for a key either. So I can only assume that it should do the same thing with the XP Home Disk. Maybe I will try this at some point as I am planning on reinstalling XP with a stripped out version at some stage down the line |

If you do not have the correct oembios files, it requires the phone call, and thats where they want your key off the bottom to verify it is legit. This works with pro and home, I have verified on my systems. The oembios filesets are the same for pro and home. If you have a dell install cd from another computer it should work and preactivate nicely as well, just need to make sure it isnt putting a bunch of garbage on there as well. Dell isnt TOO bad about that. I dont want to encourage any funny stuff, however this is all very common knowledge in the industry and when used LEGALLY is very helpful. |
