The writes to disk are the only real bottleneck of the mini for normal computing, reduce your drive writes = better performance, regardless of what manufacturer or type of drive (hdd, ssd). |

Would a performance boost be gained by storing all apps on an SDHC? I can see my self purchasing a 16gb/32gb SDHC and just leaving it in all the time, as its no hassle really. |

I've got a 16gb SDHC that I keep in there all the time, but I only use it for storage. I found that running any programs off of it is quite slow. I ran some benchmarks, and the read performance of the SDHC is about a quarter of that of the SSD. |

When I first received my Mini 9 I noticed the occasional stutter but I didn't see it at all after installing WinXP from scratch and installing a 2gb DIMM. That didn't stop me from taking all these steps to optimize it further though!  I have a 16gb Class 6 card on the way, but use an 8gb in there for media. Mine's running great.
