I redirected the My documents folder to my SDHC card to save space on the SSD,when I noticed this-

If I right click on the SSD and check the space of it,I get this information-

Total space- 14.3 GB
Used Space- 8.76 GB
Free Space- 5.54 GB

however,if I go into the SSD drive,select all,and check the file size,I get this total-

6.54 GB

So what happened to the other 2 gigs? I ran chkdsk,didnt find anything. also,my page file is off,and I view hidden files to make sure I didnt miss anything.

I have one of the good STEC drives,so I wouldnt think I'd get a problem with it...

I got 16gig SSD,16 gig SD card and 2 gigs of RAM

you mentioned that you have hidden files set to visible but didn't mention system files. there are two separate settings in the folder options... they're both visible?

I had a friend look at it,turns out it was the hibernation file

Yeah, I noticed a gain of 2gb when I turned hibernation off. Nice.
