so i bit the bullet and installed build 7100rc. The system feels a lot more modern now with its snazzy new taskbar. Aero works with transparency disabled, although it eats up a lot of memory. I am curious to see if others are having a similar experience. My system seems to idle around 70% OF TOTAL MEMORY AVAILABLE. I guess my real question is: how much memory is windows7 supposed to use while idling. With Avira and Firefox running, this is my memory consumption: |

Windows 7, like Vista, takes advantage of memory for caching files. What you're seeing is normal. If an application needs the memory, it will get it. Mini 9|2GB RAM|64GB RunCore|Intel 5300|Windows 8 |
