Default Win 7 & Office 07 - Warning - 06-21-2009, 12:50 AM

I completed the install of Win 7 yesterday with great results. Today, I finished installing all of the programs that I use on a regular basis, including Office 2007 (Student/Home). Following the install, the program sent me to the web to look for updates and I came across Service Package 2 for Office and choose to download and install it. Following the process, my system became extremely unstable and began to crash repeatidly.

I have just finished my second install of Win 7 and am currently reinstalling the support drivers. I wanted to provide this warning to all. I am not sure what caused the instability - but at this point, I am assuming that it was the Service Package and not Office itself.

I plan on re-installing Office later tonight without the Service Pack update. I will report on its stability after this is done.

Interesting. I wonder if anyone else here has Office 07 SP2. It'd be nice to hear if anyone else had these problems.

Same here. I have reinstalled Windows 7 four times now (all clean installs for new builds), and installed Office 2007 immediately after installing drivers and updates.

Twice I used the SP2 installer for Office 2007, and twice I let it get the updates on it's own. No issues.

So I have reinstalled everything and have had the mini fully operational for several days with no issues. This time, I did fore go the installation of the SP2 for office. Even though I read the posts indicating no issues, I was a little gun shy. So far, machine stable.

No issue here, and I am running all the latest patches for 7 and Office 2007.
