Default Aero Performance with Mini 10v - 06-19-2009, 10:23 PM

Can you run Windows 7 on the Mini 10v using Aero without lag? Would it require a 2GB RAM upgrade?

Thanks in advance.

I don't know about the 10v, but the similar components 9 works fine. 2GB certainly helps overall, though I don't know if it affects Aero performance.

As Holmes4 said, should be comparable with the 9.

My 10v ran Aero on Windows 7 very well when I had 1GB of RAM and worked out of the box. Now that I have 2GB of RAM I don't really notice any performance increases except that running video is alot easier as I have no page file since I only have a 16GB SSD and I was always getting out of memory messages.

I just got my 10v and installed Windows 7 on it, to dual boot with XP. I only have a gig of RAM as this is stock.

I find it runs pretty well, after removing some of the animated effects, and shadows.

However is it just me? I find 7 runs smoother with Aero enabled (without glass). I wonder if it has to do with the fact the GPU will do more processing in this case...

The latest Intel GMA 500 driver update makes aero run very nicely!

Please do not send me support requests via PM.

we are talkin 10v.... not the 10.

10v and mini 9 have the same components. Win 7 on my mini 9 kicks ass, runs so smooth, it shouldnt be possible for such a pretty os with tons of animations to run so smooth, but it does, i will never go back to xp on my mini.

This is on my mini 9 with 2gb of ram and an 8gb stec.
