Installing Windows 7 w/Flash Drive from OS X - 05-09-2009, 10:14 PM
Ok, so I realize how hilarious this is, but I don't have easy access to a Windows computer at the moment, but I do have access to my MacBook Pro. Yes, I need to use a Mac to install Windows. I have the Windows 7 RC ISOs. Is it possible to use my Mac to prepare a Windows 7 install flash drive? I was thinking that I could format the flash drive on my Mac, and then mount the ISO with Disk Utility, and copy the files over. That leaves me without a bootable partition, though. Any thoughts? Thanks!
EDIT: So here's a thought:
If I formatted the USB drive as a FAT32 drive, mounted the ISO, and copied the files over, would that work? Or would it still not be bootable?
Would I just be better off wasting a DVD burning an install disk from the ISO?
