I had this problem with my initial install of 7000. My problem was my 2.4Ghz cordless phone. I have since destroyed the phone and the service was canceled, but have had a problem only once since(no more nwifi.sys BSOD). Anyway, what would happen is, the phone would get answered. If I was using network shares I would usually get a BSOD. If I was just browsing the net everything would be fine for a while and then I would not be able to access MY COMPUTER(it would just go blank and the green address bar would never quite reach the end). It would stay in this state indefinitely forcing me to hard stop the computer(the longest I let it go was 9 hours after hitting shut down and it just sat @ the 'windows is shutting down' screen. If I just closed the browser(firefox) and restarted the computer without opening a windows explorer window the results would be the same with the exception of it would actually restart without drama. Upon starting up however, I would automatically be thrown into my public profile with no network discovery on of course and my router would be available but could not connect.
At this point I would have to unplug the router(Linksys-WRT54G2) and let it reset- problem solved.
What bothers me though is that I didn't have this problem with Xp only 7 so what I gather is that the phone twacked my router and while I could get Internet MOST of the time after this would happen(as long as no BSOD) always on restart I would not be able to connect with my network- sometimes I could see the network, sometimes I couldn't. Abecedary suggested in another thread
, changing channels and that might be viable but like I said, I never had this problem with Xp.
It has happened a couple of times since the demise of the cordless, and both times a neighbor was within 15 feet of me on their cordless so ???? Hope this sheds some light and unfortunatly we seem to be SOL but the changing broadcast freq. does seem to help-for a while at least reduces the trips to router. or you can kill your phone
....still on OG build 7000
