Yes, but encryption doesn't help if, as jdizzlle's neighbor did, you leave the key with the PC. It's like writing your password on a note taped to the monitor.

If I was going to use whole-disk encryption on the Mini, I would probably use a password-based one such as TrueCrypt rather than one that required a USB key.

Yep I agree, for windows XP drive I use truecrypt.

For windows 7 drive, I use bitlocker, simply because I have to use it at work and need to be familiar with it.

yeah, just don't be a tool like my neighbor

on a lighter note I'll probably give this a go on our work computers when we upgrade to 7 as we have sensitive info on them.

I have a Dell Mini 12 that I would like to get PointSec installed on. It installs, but when re-booting it hangs when trying to load Windows. I have removed the recovery partition. Any ideas on how to get PointSec working would be appreciated. Thanks.
