I have a working BT GPS on my Win 7 using the Delorme Street Atlas software and the Bluelogger. I have managed to make the BT GPS work with some Mac applications on my Hackintosh as well.
The way I managed mine in Win 7 is very similar to what cghebert posted earlier.
First, make sure your mini has the BT discoverable on. Turn on your GPS and wait for the computer to request a connection and then put in in your passcode. If it doesn't find it automatically you can double click your BT settings and have it search.
Once you've established a connection then click on your GPS and look at the properties and com ports. You'll see the incoming and outgoing com ports.
For me it was as easy as going into my mapping software and telling it that my GPS was on the associated com port. HTH
