When you do a clean install, boot with DVD, select Custom and click on the Drive Options (advanced) icon. Delete the existing partition(s). From here, there is no need to do anything else with the drive if you plan on using the entire contents for the OS as Windows 7 will take care of the rest when you click NEXT. In other words, install on Unallocated Space. 2. When you are at the screen to select Upgrade or Custom, hit <shift><f10>. This will bring you to the Windows PE command prompt. You should see an X:\sources. From there, you can do a (not quick) format, which depending on your hard drive size, will take a while to complete. I'm going to give this a try now and edit this post with the results. I am going to try Custom option 2 btw. Edit: FN+F10 doesn't work so I'm trying option 1. Edit: Still have old pinned icons  Edit: Chose repair and able to get to Command Prompt! Formatting now. Final Edit: Same two pinned icons sitting there. Bleh, I give up. Formatted 200MB hidden partition as well. |
