Are you running Aero? The Mini 9 can have diffuculty running Aero with 2GB RAM, especially if something else is using up some of the memory as you enter sleep. That often explains why it can be intermittent for some.
If you are using Aero, try disabling it (not just transparency) and then try sleep.

Edit: Changed "The Mini 9 can just barely handle..." to "The Mini 9 can have difficulty running..."

I concur on 7057 having no noticeable problems with Sleep. Very few problems whatsoever really.

I am running 7022 and had hibernation disabled. When I am inactive on my netbook it will automatically logout with the screen completely blacked out to conserve power. To reactivate, all I need to do is to hit the power button once, it will prompt me for login (username and password). Everything runs quite smooth and I have no problems with aero theme or with running multiple applications simultaneously.

With the RTM build, I'm still getting this issue. If I put it to sleep for a long time, it doesn't wake up and the bottom becomes very hot.

Bios A05, Legacy USB and Wake on USB disabled.

any ideas?

What model Mini? My 9 and 10v have no issues with sleeping in 7, RTM build (and I haven't disabled anything in BIOS either.)

10v, stock, Win 7 Pro RTM, clean install. Sleep works perfect for me.

Was running RTM for about a month now on Mini 9, and suddenly this is happening. After it wakes up from sleep, it appears to come back up, I can move the mouse and the screen comes back on quickly. However, you try to click on anything and the system just freezes. Mouse still moving but Windows just won't react.

Noticed that the sleep issue only occurs on battery. While charging, the mini sleeps and wakes normally. Can anyone try this to confirm?

10V Win7 RTM here. Just about every time I open mine I get "Display driver has recovered" or something like that. When it's on battery, alot of times, the screen just wont turn on and I'll have to restart. I've got it set to never sleep, hibernate, or screen save.
