Each time its done this(bout 5 so far) my screen on my mini was off and my system is set to turn off the HD after 10 mins and hibernate after 10 mins. Im assuming the install would take priority over this but is it possible it may affetc it some how? |

Is there any other way to install the beta without having to mount the image or burn a cd or anything, like in a safe mode or something. Im pretty computer literate but far from a pro, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. i also turned off all power sae options that mite disrupt the install. |

If you are booting to the win7 disk you're power options shouldn't matter as the xp os would never load as the win7 disc should boot and offer install. I had problems with my usb dvd as the drive letter assigned to the drive by my desktop conflicted with a drive on my mini. The only weird thing I've noticed is that the bios automatically changed boot order from dvd first to ssd first, not sure how that can happen, but it did. |

I havent yet tried deleting the partitions though and am gonna try that right now. Hopefully it works *fingers crossed*. Id be a bit less anxious if it didnt take almost 30 mins per try to find out if its not gonna work or not. GRRR thats annoying. |

But on the same screen in my own setup when im on the drive selection screen i dont have the drive options menu as the person in the video seemed to have. Does that ahve anything to do with the fact that im booting the ISO from a virtual drive and not an actual disc drive, and if so is there any way around this. Tried the Thumb drive method to no avail and i dont have any external drives. EDIT: OMFG!!! AHHHHHHHHH, lol just had to get that out. Ive just finished attemping my 10th install attempt after deleting the drive partition and it still gives me the exact same error message. Im gonna try deleting every single program i can think of that may be interfering or whatever as a last ditch attempt. no way im spending 100 bucks on a disc drive to install free beta software. Thanks so much to all who have contributed your suggestions and help. |
