Hi,

Has anyone (preferably in the UK) received a Mini 10v which they ordered directly from Dell with Windows 7 (Starter Edition) already installed as the default OS?

If so, I would be interested to know the details of the additional CD's they provided.

I Just ordered a dell Mini 10v with Windows 7 on monday. It should arrive on the 18th. I'll let you know what CD's It comes with when it arrives.

i got my Mini10v in November with a Reinstallation DVD (Windows 7 Starter for Small Notebook PCs 32-Bit), a Driver & Utilities DVD, a Application CD and a Microsoft Works 9.0 DVD.

Thank you both for your replies.

What I am trying to establish is whether or not Dell have issued any Windows 7 specific CD's or DVD's, possibly containg later versions of programs, such as the Webcam Central Software for example, which is not available for download from their website.

For example, my Driver & Utilities DVD (for the 1011) is Rev:A00 March 2009 and the Application CD is also Rev:A00 but dated July 2009. These came with a Mini 10v which I ordered a couple of months ago now, before Windows 7 was officially released.

Are yours any later than these please, and if so perhaps we could look at Part Numbers also?

It is of course possible that Dell will issue different versions for different countries, which is why I was hoping to find someone in the UK who has also received them.

I looked at my order and it just states, "Resource CD w/ Diagnostics andDrivers" no specifics on Rev or anything. Sorry. I'll have to wait to find out.

The Application CD appears to be the same as the one which was supplied with mine, but the Drivers & Utilities one is later, so I assume that the files on there were updated for Windows 7.

I'm assuming this will eventually lead to an image of the Driver CD being made? The innards of the 10v are close enough to those of the Mini 9/A90 that this would probably end up being quite beneficial to everyone involved.

Mods, would this be against any forum rules? We all obviously own Dell machines. I'm sure that Dell would be willing to send out the Driver CD to any Mini 10v users, but I doubt they'd be so kind to us Mini9/A90ers now that both are discontinued.

Yes, it would be against the forum rules to post or provide links to a copy of a Dell CD. You can get the drivers and (most) software Dell has for the 10v and Windows 7 here. I don't see the Webcam Central app there, but my experience is that the one that comes with the Mini 9 works fine.

However, not everything for the 10v works for the 9. Furthermore, Windows 7 provides drivers for most everything on the 9, and what it doesn't you can get through the links in the "Windows 7 ultimate drivers list" post.
