first off, here are my specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium (upgrade version from XP Home - Dell factory install)
Ever since installing Windows 7, the boot time of my Mini sometimes goes through the roof. But it does it randomly. The mini will boot up just fine, get out of the bios screen and get the the screen with the progress bar and "Microsoft Corp." under it, gets past that, then goes blank. It will sit there for upwards of 2+ minutes. Then the Windows login screen is displayed and everything is AOK.
If I reboot right after this, it doesn't get the delay. It just seems random. And it didn't start until after I upgraded to w7.
I mainly use it at work to listen to music. It doesn't connect to any network because our office is pretty shielded from outside connections. But I had been taking it home to get updates and tweak the layout on my personal time. I thought maybe the delay was it trying to reconnect to my home network, so I didn't connect it to my home network all week. (I didn't even turn it on at home, just used it at work offline). But it still has the delay. It seems to mainly happen when I start it up for the first time of the day. But it's done it at other startup times and sometimes doesn't do it when I first start it up for the day.
Anyone run into this besides me? And I suck at explaining things, so if I've confused you, lemme know and I'll try to connect the dots.
Thanks in advance.
