It depends. If you're using the Mini 9/Vostro A90, BIOS A05 should help you here, though it causes problems if you use a non-Dell battery. Otherwise, look at BatteryBar. The issue is that the earlier BIOSes don't report current flow to the OS. BatteryBar works around that by calculating time based on changes in voltage level.
