Default Which Win 7 ??? - 09-24-2009, 07:53 AM

I am about to take delivery of my new 1011 (1gb RAM, 160gb HDD). It will come with XP but I want to change to OS to Win 7 as everyone seems to be raving about it.

I don't plan to take my new Mini 10v apart (yet!) to add the extra 1gb of RAM.

What version of Win7 should I get? I am using the netbook for basic home use i.e. word processing, browsing, music, watching movies, etc. Is it worth upgrading to Win 7?

Home Premium is the edition I would recommend. I don't consider the added features in Professional or Ultimate to be worthwhile on a netbook, but you may have special needs. Win7 is great on the Mini series, better than XP.

My advice would be to use XP for a while to make sure the new Mini is ok. By the time Win7 comes out, it would be safe to buy a copy and install it, noting that it will be a "clean install".
