i was lucky to get in on's 19 dollar msdnaa subscription that got me 8 yes 8 win 7 pro keys... just activated one on my new awesome win 7 install on my mini 9... there is no way im going back to xp! win 7 is so much smoother!

but 30 bucks is still pretty good for the ppl who havnt been able to get in on it.

I pre-ordered this yesterday and you have the option of selecting either the Home Premium or Professional version This is NOT an Academic license version, but a retail version, which provides all the benefits you would receive if you bought it at the store.

I don't mean to be asking a (possibly) stupid question..

Yes I think it's a great deal and I would love it, but isn't Windows 7 still not for sale like in the bigger picture? Why is Microsoft selling it immediately to students? Does that make any sense?
