On Windows 7 Pro, I am trying to stream through WMP 11 to my xbox 360. I am unable to connect via media center extender as well. I have sharing enabled WMP and the xbox 360 is "allowed'. The network sharing service is running, the firewall is disabled, I updated Win 7, and cleared the Xbox cache. Any ideas?

*sigh* XBox 360's always seem to be picky about media streaming

I think MS really needs to work on this aspect of their product, because if everything is not 100% perfect... it all blows up. On top of that, they should really work on the media streaming functionality to make it more user-friendly.

Fixed

I tried two things, not sure which helped. I changed my network from WPA-2 to WPA because two of my roommates couldn't connect with vista. I also uninstalled and reinstaslled WMP12 (a very convoluted process I wouldn't recommend). Fortunately, I stumbled upon this: http://www.askvg.com/get-taskbar-too...der-windows-7/ . It makes WMP12 a bit easier to use. It's connecting nicely now - streaming AVI's perfectly! I'm staying away from media center though. Not seeing much improvement with it.
