Hi,
I installed Windows 7 a few days ago and I'm sure this has happened yesterday but I probably didn't realise exactly what was happening. For some reason, sometimes the control key is activated while typing, and when this happens with any keys I press act as a control function, such as CTRL + T, etc. When it happens I've tried other programs such as Windows Live Messenger and the control key is still activated so I presume it happens for all programs.
I've just found out that if you press the left middle of the touchpad the control key is activated (I presume this is if you want to open links in a new tab for example). For both scenarios the control key is not deactivated until I press the control key myself. But the problem is I know I don't press the touchpad when typing so it may be indirectly related to the touchpad feature but its odd that this happens if I type. This has happened (so far) when I type in the search box in IE or the address bar (edit: oh, its just happened while typing this topic).
I've never actually had this problem in Windows XP; only in 7 as far as I'm aware. Right now I'm using the Dell touchpad drivers (which may be causing this problem) so I could try the Synaptics drivers see if that fixes the problem. Has anyone had this problem in Windows 7 (I've got the Dell Inspiron Mini 10v)?
Thanks.
