Not sure which ap you're missing, but if it's the Dell one, did you try downloading from Dell's site?

The webcam works fine on my Mini without downloading anything extra...

If you want the Dell Webcam Central app, just reinstall from the CD Dell gave you. Windows 7 will install the driver on its own (run Windows Update if it hasn't yet.) However, you don't need the Dell app to use the webcam in other applications, such as Skype.

Default Webcam Central For Windows 7 - 11-13-2009, 06:21 PM

Please advise where the Windows 7 version of Dell's Webcam Central can be found.

There are all manner of posts as to where to get the previous (Vista & XP) versions of it but so far nobody is saying where the actual "built for Windows 7" downloadable Webcam Central application on the Dell Support Website is, nor have they posted a link to it.

Thank you.

I don't think there is one, nor is one needed in my experience. The XP version works fine.

Default Update on Win 7 Webcam Central - 11-15-2009, 05:44 PM

I recently got my Windows 7 Upgrade DVD's from Dell. One of the discs is full of application updates and Webcam Central is one of the updates. I don't know why it isn't on the Dell download site. Here are the details.
The Webcam Central version on Dell's upgrade disc is 1.40.05.
After installing you can go to the question mark in the application (top, right) and run Check For Software Update. That updates you to 1.40.09.

Everything seems to work better than ever with this software package.

Does anyone have the 1.40.05 or .09 version? Please PM me if you do. I can get mine to see the camera with the version on the XP disk (after installing the program then uninstalling the camera, then reinstalling the camera drivers back to unupdated drivers) , but to get the effects to work it says I need to update the camera drivers. When I update the drivers, Webcam Central can no longer see my camera. There is no option on the 1.01 version to update.

Correct. The disposition from us is that loading the XP version of the Creative Labs Intergrated Camera works in Windows 7. I doubt we will create a dedicated 7 driver.

Drivers and Downloads

Wrong. No one is doubting that the drivers work. The drivers do work, the camera does work. OP and everyone else is looking for the updated Dell Webcam Central program. Not the drivers. Dell Webcam Central version 1.01.05 is not working. Some have reported that 1.40.09 does work, but Dell wont post that on the support site.

I dont believe that legally that they are allowed to distribute the program that way...If you buy a new machine then they can give you the disk, but not to put it online where it is available for every Tom,Dick or Harry.....(sorry if that is someone name here..its just a saying.).....
