After struggling with drivers for Windows 7 Beta 1, I've decided to make an all-inclusive guide to help with drivers.

I would disable indexing.

Regarding the webcam, Windows installed a driver automatically. The webcam software is on the "Applications" CD.

Edit : never mind found the problem, but i noticed my disk transfer rate is scoring a 2.0, wonder why that is?

What were the two items? I have them and cannot figure it out.

I had downloaded the jmicron sd card slot drivers, the one linked in the begining of the thread didnt solve the problem, but "JMicron - JMB380_R1.00.12.07" did, Sorry i forgot to save the link so just do a search around... Cant remember if it was this forum or not, so google .

I have the disk transfer at 2.0 problem too..

Do you have the stock 32gb SSD?

No, i have the stock 16gb, but inless people are full of it , we are suppose to be getting a better score..

is the location for a newer version (12/01/2008).

Downloaded, installed and fixed those yellow triangles.

Yup. That's the driver you want to install. Don't even bother with the supposed JMicron driver from the first post. It's really an install package for a Realtek USB Card Reader, which the Mini9 doesn't have. If Dell would use a more conventional naming scheme for their driver packages (instead of seemingly random strings of numbers) they could avoid mixups like this.

Thanks for the excellent write-up! I installed Win7 on our test laptop here @ work and fell in love, so I couldn't resist putting it on my Mini 9! I'm @ "Completing Installation" right now (seems like forever!). Running 2GB RAM and 16GB STEC (stock) SSD. Can't wait to test performance!!
