| Most Dells (including the Minis) use a software-based switch along with the proper key combination to turn on/off the wireless (WLAN, Bluetooth, or both.) Quote:

any difference between internal and external, other than usb port? is there any advantage to returning my dell? its already dual boot win7 and os-x.... keep it and just use external bluetooth usb as opposed to getting new dell and starting from scratch? thanks, any advice appreciated... |

| I would just order the card & cable off eBay and install it myself. In fact, I have to do just that as mine came from the Outlet sans Bluetooth (I knew it at the time.)

Documentation The Bluetooth is a module that plugs into the board. It is not embedded in the true sense of the word. You have to purchase Bluetooth as an upgrade when you order your 10v, or you add it in later. Quote:

| There is no cable. It just plugs into the motherboard.

The link I provided previously is part of the service manual. At the top of the page click on the "Back to Contents Page" to see the entire manual. Internally there are some differences between the 10 and 10v. The differences are the case plastics for the different ports on the side (HDMI vs VGA), the system board, etc.

| Sorry to keep things on topic, but I just switched over to Win 7 RTM from RC1 using the drivers from this list and pretty much as expected everything worked great! Heck, I'd swear compared to RC1 it's even faster and more surefooted on my Mini 9 now too, but that could easily be the new OS buzz I'm experiencing. I haven't run any benchmarks as I'd likely mess 'em up or misinterpret them or something. Once again, thank you! This thread is ahead of it's time and therefore RIGHT ON TIME! ![]()
