I'll Vlite it in the morning and see if there's much difference over 6956, but I doubt there is...

Arrr... still with this... just so it is clear, it is NOT the battery meter program that includes the driver to make that system device go away, but the Wireless Select Switch software. Where people get confused is that the WLSS comes bundled together with the battery meter by default. You can download them separately from dell's site, and if you do it that way, you only need the WLSS and can leave out the battery meter since XP's already got one and the Dell one adds nothing (except the ability to bring it up with Fn+3... not useful)

Something wacky is going on.. my WEI is

Processor: 2.2
Memory: 4.5
Graphics: 2.3
Gaming Graphics: 3.0
Hard disk: 2.0

Seems like there might be some kind of driver thing going on with the SSD.
The "Unknown Device" is the touchpad. If you install the Windows XP drivers from Dell's site, you'll resolve that issue. The other two devices are still a mystery to me. I get the same problem with Vista, but it doesn't make problems with my system. I just successfully installed Windows 7 build 7000 last night, and I am quite impressed with it's performance with only the stock 16gb SSD and 1gb of RAM. I will be ordering RAM by the end of this week. If anyone has any questions, let me know. I'll try and do the best I can to find out the answer for you.

Additionally, I was impressed with the fact that the only driver I needed to install was the trackpad driver after installation. When I installed Vista, nothing worked. No wireless, video, nothing. I installed a fresh copy of 7 and everything worked just as it needed to, except the trackpad. Definitely a selling point for me.

Did you do an upgraded install? I had to install the WLSS and the other drive listed on the first page to get rid of all my question marks.

Does anyone have any idea why my CPU scored so low, is there an updated driver than what 7 comes with?

I pretty much got the same performance figures in my experience index. Also not sure why the SSD scored so low in Win7

Has anyone had problems with getting the Mini to sleep with Windows 7 installed? When I close mine, it will go to sleep, but I can't get it to wake back up. Any ideas?

W7 build 7000 has worked flawlessly for me thus far. Please remember if you guys turn off the UAC then the gadgets will no longer work. I've sent mine to the 1st increment.

W7 is everything Vista could and should have been. I'm lovin' it in a non Mc Donalds way.

Does yours sleep when you close it? And does it immediately wake back up when you open it? Cause mine doesn't. :-(
