I've been looking for how to install this on the Dell mini version of Ubuntu (actually, I'm looking for educational software for kids) and I find all kinds of instructions if I had windows, but I can't seem to find anything for Ubuntu. Can anyone help?

you can search the package database with synaptic (graphical) or aptitude (textual).

to install gcompris type in the terminal:
sudo aptitude install gcompris

thanks, installing it was easy after that. I had a little trouble getting the window sized properly, but then I found the parameter.
