Default Total n00b, just installed UNR on my Mini10--Problems - 04-28-2009, 02:52 PM

Hey All,

So, to preface, i'm a totally new to ubuntu, so please, treat me with kid gloves. I just got my mini10 with no upgrades, just straight out of the box. I wrote UNRimage file to a USB key and then installed it from the key,

However, I'm having some major problems with it.

1) It's super super slow.
2) I can't change the screen resolution (the only option on the Display settings screen is 800x576, which looks terrible).

Any help you can give in plain English (Again, total ubuntu n00b) would be super helpful.

Ubuntu 9.04 Netbook Remix is quite fast on my Mini 9, but the Mini 9 has one big advantage: the graphics card actually has a proper Linux driver. I believe the driver for the GMA500 graphics in the Mini 10 only works in older Linux versions, like Ubuntu 8.04, which the Minis offer. So, an older version of Ubuntu might work better in your netbook.

Mini 9 | Intel 5100 Wifi | Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook
Mini 1012 | SSD | Intel 6200 Wifi | Ubuntu 11.10 64bit
