After the base install and reboot, if you want to run UNR you just have to install ubuntu-netbook-remix and then reconfigure your desktop. I don't know whether this would have an impact on the battery life or not, though. I get the impression from yakinikku's post that you should be expecting better battery life with the i386 install. |

Here is the link for the installer: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ports/daily/current/ Remember that it is still in beta. ![]() (edit) I also tested 9.04 i386, and got way more than 2:30--I think something is wrong with your install, make sure you click the battery icon an edit the preferences to conserve power. Also remember that you need to discharge and recharge the battery a few times to get an accurate reading; just because the battery monitor SAYS 2:30 doesn't mean it's necessarily true. ![]() |

I had been running the 9.04 i386 beta/RC previously and got better battery life than with UNR. In fact, when I was running 8.10 i386 I was still getting better battery life than UNR. By the way, does Hulu really stink using 9.04 for you guys? Edit: My evaluation is non-scientific. I don't have anything except anecdotal evidence to provide at this point. |
