Default Battery Life? - 11-05-2008, 06:43 PM

I have the standard 8.10 running with netbook ui. I've set the settings down and suspend when possible. Regardless, I am having horrible battery life. I allow it to sleep overnight and it's down to like 29% the next morning, is this normal? What else can I do to get a longer battery life? Thanks.

Someone will correct me but I would imagine that any Operating System has little, or nothing, to do with power use while sleeping. That is purely controlled by the BIOS, the amount of power your memory Module takes and how low of a power state the Atom CPU can get into. The lithium ion battery will not overcharge if you leave it plugged in overnight. Also, LiIon batteries tend to like shorter charge cycles, so it would actually be better not to let it drain all the way. (if that was your intended goal by sleeping it overnight not plugged in)
