Default GTKpod and HFSPLUS - 02-26-2009, 06:03 PM

I am trying to get GTKpod to work with an ipod. Of course it's formatted for a Mac. Here's what I've tried so far. I've installed hfsplus and libhfsp0 using Synaptic.

sudo modprobe hfsplus
FATAL: Module hfsplus not found.

sudo mount -t hfsplus /dev/sdb2 /tmp/ipod
mount: unknown filesystem type 'hfsplus'

Of course GTKpod gives me the same error. I'm not sure if modprobe is correct to load it? I tried restarting just in case.

See here:

The hfsplus package does not provide a module for hfsplus. It provides utilities to manage an hfsplus extended partition. Note that a journaled hfsplus partition cannot be managed. If its journaled, you're lost already. But the lpia kernel doesn't have the hfsplus module.

Try this:
modprobe -l | grep hfs
What do you see?
