Default Wireless not even visible? - 10-22-2008, 04:20 AM

I have an Ubuntu mini and cannot see my wireless card (except when I take off the back cover to make sure it is physically present). Any assistance would be great.

I have looked at all the menu options for wireless and have only found the airplane mode which will turn it off or on in airplane mode, but has no effect because the hardware is apparently invisible to the OS.

I have tried to follow the steps in http://www.broadcom.com/docs/linux_sta/README.txt but it will not "make" it. I have updated several times and still have no broadcom driver to authorize and cannot find any ndiswrapper drivers either.

I have dabbled in linux for my tivo but not much more... Maybe I am not worthy :| and should just put XP on it, but I want to get it working....

Thanks in advance....

Error when trying to make? Easy solution would be to get the dell-ubuntu-image from some other thread here.
