Default Hardy to Intrepid beta upgrade with Netbook Remix - 10-21-2008, 06:54 PM

Just wanted to let you guys know that I did a dist-upgrade from Hardy to Intrepid. It took quite a while. At least 1.5 hours to download and install. The upgrade was somewhat interactive as it asked if I wanted to keep my custom grub menu file as well as sysctl file and a few others. I walked away a few times. If I didn't it would have finished sooner.

The upgrade commented out the Netbook Remix repositories in the Apt source list file. I went in and un-commented them and changed them from Hardy to Intrepid.

The only package that gave me a problem was going from ume-launcher to netbook launcher. I had to remove ume-launcher and then install netbook-launcher. I also had to add netbook-launcher to automatically start in Session Preferences/Startup Programs.

Other than that it was a flawless upgrade.
