Apologies for yet another thread about wireless not working, but I think this is a bit different (and also, the search function seems to think that "ubuntu wlan vodafone" are too common words to search for!).
I have a UK Vodafone-provided Mini 9, and would like to shelve the Windows XP installed on it in favour of Ubuntu 8.10. However, when booting into Ubuntu, the only recognised hardware in the Network/Wireless Manager is the HSPA modem used for the Vodafone 3G - which doesn't work, either.
Anyway, the 3G I can look at later, but I really need to get the Wireless working on it, otherwise it's not so much a netbook as a notbook.
Has anyone got any ideas as to how I can actually try and get the netbook to look at its wireless adapter - it may be that I have to disable the HSPA modem, but I have no idea how to do either of these things under Ubuntu, I'm afraid.
Any help will be gratefully received.
