Installing new Runcore drive on Ubuntu mini - 02-07-2009, 01:10 AM
I'm really excited, I finally got my Runcore 16 gig drive for the mini. I have tried to read up on Acronis True Image and am planning on following this video for installation of my new drive:

I noticed this guy has Windows, will I be able to use Acronis True Image with Ubuntu as well? Is there a different process? I have WINE on my mini, is that enough to run Acronis True Image?
Thanks in advance!

Acronis can run from a CD (will create a bootable CD.) If you don't have a way to attach a USB CD to your mini9 you should be able to copy the bootable CD image to a USB stick. Once Acronis is running it will copy any hard disk...Linux or Windows (in fact, it runs in Linux, itself.)
I ordered an external USB CDrom and plan on cloning the disk using EX Gig II (which is a disk copying program that comes with Apricorn USB/IDE adapter and is really a subset of Acronis.) In fact, if the USB CDrom drive doesn't arrive before the SSD, I may use the Apricorn to mount a regular CD to the mini9.
