Default Fluendo Gstreamer plugins - 01-18-2009, 04:07 AM

Does anyone know how to get or reinstall the Fluendo Gstreamer plugins for the Ubuntu Mini 9. I removed them in troubleshooting the green screen problem in Totem that results from recent package upgrades, The Fluendo codecs that were installed do not appear to be in the repositories. I know they are available for purchase....

Since you purchased your machine from Dell who has licensed all of the appropriate software - you are not breaking the law in reinstalling them for a source other than Dell. I would start here:

Also remember that you can, in theory, get them off of the Ubuntu recovery CD.

I think that some codecs are available in the repo

sudo apt-get install gstreamer0.10-fluendo*
These are the mp3 and Windows media codecs (I think).
