Default Mini 910 with Ubuntu 8.04 and 56k modem US Robotics - 02-04-2011, 01:22 AM

Hello all,

I recently purchased a used Dell 910 with the Ubuntu remix 8.04 installed. I purchased a new US Robotics modem for Linux systems. The modem powers on but I cannot get it to dial. I want to use this netbook for wireless and I need to use it at a location with just dial up. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

If you have installed the correct software you should have no problem using the 910 with dial up. I have a Creative Labs Modem blaster (USB model) and it works fine with my 1010. I used the KDE version of PPK instead of the one that comes with 8.04. But either should work. fdalbor
