Default Working two-finger scroll 10.10 - 12-12-2010, 02:14 AM

I found a fix that activates true two-finger scroll for my 10v in 10.10. Just open it with Software Center, install, reboot and enable two finger scroll in system preferences. This fix works VERY well, way better than the simulated two finger detection I was using.

Nice find! Although I wish I could hold one finger and swipe with the other one like I do with OS X and like my previous solution did.

However, my solution was a bit of a hackjob, so I'll stick with this!

I compiled kernel 2.6.38 on my 10v the other day, and my touchpad is so much more usable than it was before. No more cursor jumping all over the place and two finger scrolling works for the first time (I can even hold with one finger and swipe with the other)

Upcoming distros like Ubuntu 11.04 and Fedora 15 will be using kernel 2.6.38, so I guess two finger scrolling should "just work" on those.

This is accurate, I'm running the daily build of 11.04 and two finger works out of the box.
