I just installed 10.04 on my Dell Mini 10v and I'm completely stumped by a wireless problem. Although I've seen numerous threads and bug reports from the last couple years, none of the stuff I've tried has solved the issue.
I have the Broadcom STA drivers installed, and they appear to be working correctly-- I can detect all the usual networks in my neighborhood, including my own router. However, when I enter my password and try to connect, the animated icon cycles for a while and the connection attempt fails. I'm back to the password prompt.
I've tried two flavors of WEP, WPA Personal and even disabled security all together. Changed wireless channels. Did a hard reboot on my router (a Linksys WRT-54G running DD-WRT). No luck.
I've deleted and re-created the connection from the Network Connections window. I've reinstalled the Broadcom drivers (via Synaptic Package Manager) about five times now. Hardware Drivers shows the STA driver is installed and "currently in use". But I can't connect.
Anything else to try before totally giving up?
