I installed mine this evening. UNR 10.04 onto a Mini 10v.
All I did was,
-plug in ethernet.
-go to System>Admin>Hardware Drivers
Installed/Activated the STA one first.
Then the B43 one.
Then realised the STA one wasn't active anymore, so re-activated it.
Left the program and pulled the cord. And it worked.
Didn't need to use any code whatsoever.

I was thinking... you may be able to install the driver manually from the Broadcom website on a LiveCD with persistence. The "initramfs" error message suggests that the broadcom wireless package in Ubuntu requires rebuilding the "initial ram filesystem" used early in the boot process (it's probably trying to throw the WiFi driver in there). And I guess that doesn't work on what's essentially a LiveCD. But the official Broadcom installation doesn't require that.
