Default Google Chrome and Flash 10 video framerate - 03-03-2010, 03:33 AM

I'm using Chrome 5.0.307.5 (unstable release) and Flash 10. Running flash video on chrome produces very choppy framerates (a few frames per second) but running the same flash video on Firefox 3.5 with Flash 10 produces watchable framerates. Its confusing because the same plugin is utilized but one browser is unusable for flash video while the other is. This isnt a big concern for me as watching flash video isnt a priority. But I was wondering if anyone could shed light on this.

10.6.3. 2GB RAM. 32GB RunCore.

From what I've read, Chrome places more priority on security and stability when it comes to plugins than older browsers. Plugins are more isolated from the rest of the browser, instead of being given free reign. I could imagine this being a performance issue, especially when Adobe won't worry about optimizing Flash in Chrome, 'til Chrome has appreciable marketshare.
