Default Imaging Ibex 8.10 - 12-19-2008, 07:34 PM

Well I recieved my Runcore drive today via MDD. On their website they recommend using the Arconis free software for backing up my SSD. But, I went to the site and it looks like it only supports Windows Xp/Vista/etc. What's the best way to image my drive? (ubuntu 8.10)

Install Unetbootin and use it to make a bootable usb stick with Clonezilla on it(way easy). Boot Clonezilla and image the whole disk. I had little idea what I was doing when I started but I managed to clone and restore both XP and Dell's netbook remix. It takes less than 5 minutes to restore an image from a copy. It takes a little longer to make the backup image. Just look up unetbootin, it's really easy to use. Clonezilla is a little harder to figure out but, in typical guy fashion I used it without reading the directions and it worked for me. Helps to have 2 usb flash drives, 1 for clonezilla and 1 for the images.
