I know that some programs like the Windows program ImgBurn can burn from .img files. Does anyone know if this is the restore image for the factory default Ubuntu load?

Since it is off line, I wonder if they are updating it. :?:

It is a restore image for thumbdrives.

Use dd to copy it to a USB flash drive and boot from the device. It's a text-based installer for the OS. No options. Confirm, format, reinstall.
