Default get the fn-keys working - 07-03-2009, 07:39 AM

Hi everybody,

I recieved yesterday my Dell shipment, instantly zapping XP and installing ubuntu from the cd that came along with my gf's dell (we both ordered a mini 10, but mine has a hdd so ubuntu wasn't an option out of the box).
Anyway, since then, I've been looking for a method to get the fn keys working .. has anyone a way how this could be accomplised?

Any help would be appreciated

My mini9's worked right away. If you go to preference-keyboard shortcuts, you should be able to program them.

in the bios setup you can choose to use the F keys or the multimedia keys as the default for the first "line" ;-)

It can sound pretty stupid, but you could have made the same mistake I did the first time I used it. to use the media keys, you dont have to hold the fn key, the fn key actually activates the F1-2-3... keys

If you already knew this I dont really know how to solve this though
