Default Touchscreen Games and Apps - 02-02-2011, 05:55 PM

Thought it might be good to create a list of touch optimized games and apps that people have used on the duo.

Plants vs Zombies has got to be my favourite touch game on the duo. I also play Angry Birds and World of Goo.
Starcraft II on its lowest settings is playable and is actually quite good using touch. (you need to turn your power settings on high performance)

What are everyone elses experiences with touch games and apps on the duo?

PlantsVsZombies - Great game for tablets. Period.

Generic flash games are pretty fun to play too; It wont be long until someone makes a joypad overlay for windows (like game controls on ipad) then we can get it to fun mobile gaming

Thats exactly the sort of thing im after. I think having a touchscreen gamepad and playing some emulators would be awesome! Ive seen this sort of thing in the android emulator apps but i can't get them working on Adroid-x86 yet as I believe they are coded for ARM architechture. Would be great though. PSX4Droid looks awesome. would be great on a tablet!

Honeycomb Android from my last understanding, would be compatible with x86 proccessors. Which I do plan on dual booting/paralleling when it is released.

Also WebOS in its tablet flavor will be announced next week by HP. It is a more business orientated OS yet could be feasible as an x86 port.

I advise Roads of Rome 2! It's very touchscreen friendly game!

Bye!

I hope you're right about it being x86 compatiable. Then developers won't write code natively for ARM processors.
The flagship Honeycomb device Xoom has a Tegra 2 processor, which is ARM. This is why I assumed they all would be.

Well there were a lot of windows 7 tablets announced at CES so I think that we will be seeing many more touch friendly games / apps being developed for windows 7 once they hit the scene.

I know its an old game but I wonder how well age of empires would work with touch. It is mainly pointing and clicking anyway. Might give it a go.

I would love it if someone wrote a touchscreen controller app for Windows.
There are a ton of great emulators out there.

One of the hardware modifications I'm considering (with emulation in mind expressly) is an internal Xbox 360 wireless receiver.
I already have one stripped and ready to install, as it originally lived inside my Mini 9, where it worked great!

In the mean time I have another unmodified Xbox 360 receiver I've plugged into the Audio Dock.
It's a great combination!

Android also has some great emulators as well, but the on screen controller tends to kill the experience, which i believe is also being fixed, so fingers crossed.
