i got the alternate broadcom bt module. installed fine. connected blackberry and moto q9c. did the terminal mod and added the extra line thing. and the bluetooth on is still greyed out. plus the sleep function stopped working
i redid everything and was about to disable the damn bt from the bios. i deleted the extra iopersonalities edit from above. rechecked and the edit to 688 and 16700 are all still there. i generated and regenerated the adtmt file. trashed the extension.kext file reboot in safe mode. i am now able to reawake from sleep but when I restart, all i get is a black screen forcing me to hold the power button to restart.

oh and by the way, i dont see the instructions on backing up the plist file....hell, i can't even locate it outside the terminal. in desperation, i ran fix bt under dellefi 2.5 and did everything all over again and obviously no success
what should i do to get this to work?

This worked perfect! My system had the same values as yours so I didn't even need to figure out my DEC values from my HEX values. Thanks!

Everything was going fine until I tried to search for 33301. Apparently that's missing for me. I wonder what the other potential module numbers might be?

I did a quick search through the forums and I can't find anyone with my issue. When I pair my iPhone to the Mini 9 with this bluetooth hack it works... once... sometimes. But then I restart the Mini 9 it breaks. When I choose connect from the iPhone the bluetooth icon turns green for a split second and then turns red again on the Mini 9.

If I unpair them and repair them it sometimes fixes it but sometimes doesn't and if it does fix it, after the dell restarts it breaks again.

Not sure whats going on here.
USB Tethering works fine.

Alright, I need some help guys...

I, being stupid, ran the script melkort made from page one on my Dell Mini 10v with 10.5.8. It said it worked and reboot to see changes. Upon reboot, it hangs at the Apple logo and spinny thing.

I've tried turning off Bluetooth in the BIOS and well as legacy support, even trying to boot into safemode, but no matter what I do it hangs on the Apple logo and the spinny thing. Help!

I attempted to redo this mod on my Dell 9 without success. I upgraded from 10.5.7 where the mod did work, and is unable to get the same thing to work under 10.5.8. One change is that the file that is edited went from 298 lines to 318 lines (I think, it was way more than before.)

Anyone have any ides to get this working again? I have a stock Dell bluetooth module, and it was working after the bluetooth mod under 10.5.7 just fine. Thanks.

Trying to use an external USB BT module - the IOGear GBU421 micro-sized adapter. I have tried all of the Product ID's I can see in the System Profiler, but none seem to result in correct operation. Below is the whole list that shows up. Any suggestions as to which Product ID to use?

Cheers,
Lazlo

In case anyone cares, I figured out that the correct Product ID to use for the IOGear GBU421 micro BT USB adaptor is the last one - 0x2148 -> 8520.

Offtopic: Does anyone know how I can change the MAC-address of the built-in Bluetooth-module (OS X or WinXP)?

Thanks in advance
