Hey guys i have a Dell latitude 2120 and i am wondering if i cna install mac os x on my dell 2120?
i tried but if put my dvd in it doesn't load.

I would hazard a guess that you can install Snow Leopard (not Lion) using the same method detailed here for the Latitude 2100. It runs great on mine.

I have loaded 10.6.8 on a Latitude 2120 and it does work, except the video drivers, very very choppy but usable. The 2120 uses the GMA x3150 and there are really no Apple drivers for it. Lots have tried to create a new from scratch X3150 kext but no one has and i doubt they will. That is when i stopped trying. I now use the 2120 with touch screen with windows 8 and the acer driver and it does work real well.
The Latitude 2100 with the 1366x768 screen with 10.6.8 is the best. Been my daily driver since 2010. I have 2 1 for my backup. For what i do, the computer is the best i have had in years . It has a tri boot on it , 10.6.8,windows 7 ,Mint 14 and makes it great

Can you give me the driver for the touch screen? i never got it to work on windows 8 thats why i stoped getting windows 8 on my dell 2120 and started installing mac os x.

Can you sne dme the link for the acer driver? Never were abled to find it anywhere.

go to Acer | Download Acer | Download
Under group select All in-one
Under Series select Aspire
Under product select Aspire Z3771
After it brings up the drives for that model
select operating system
windows 8 64 or 32 (driver is the same one)
Under category select Touch and click in download on right side
will download Touch_IdeaCom_3.3.0.34_W8x64UW8x86U_A.zip 667K
Unzip
look for IdeaCom_Touch_Driver.msi
the wrapper setup or msi as is wont let you install on Dell it will say only for acer
you need to open a command prompt from windows
type
mkdir c:\tempdir
msiexec /a c:\path_to_file\IdeaCom_Touch_Driver.msi /qb TARGETDIR=c:\tempdir
then go to update drivers in device manger and for the Human Interfacees Devices and select IdeaCom HID Touchscreen \driver\update driver
browse my computer to where you extracted he msi file c:\tempdir
after a reboot that should be it
any questions write back
