Default Thinix Touch 3 - 02-03-2011, 05:35 PM

Hi, all.

Anyone else using the touch-based UI from Thinix? I installed it on my Duo and use it in application mode (you can boot directly to it, but I still want access to Windows).

There are a few minor annoyances, but by-and-large, it's incredibly easier to use on a touchscreen than windows and it's infinitely better than DuoStage. It's pretty responsive, too. Doesn't seem to take any longer to launch apps than windows.

Hi-

I work with Thinix.

I am glad to hear you like the software. Please note an updated release should be available in the next few weeks that will improve some of the touch and screen rotation features.

For those wondering, you may get Thinix Touch and MyMashup UI software (use them both for best results) from www.thinix.com/touch - 30 day free trial. Licenses start at $29.99

I tried it and really couldn't get it to work for me. The biggest thing I found was that I could not scroll in IE8.

It scrolls fine for me. I actually use firefox anyway, but IE8 works fine when I do try to use it.

My only real complaint with Thinix Touch is that it takes too long for the virtual keyboard to pop up when you set it to automatic mode. I can manually open dell's virtual keyboard and finish typing internet addresses before the (much nicer) thinix keyboard ever opens.
