I'm going back to Linux Mint after a year hiatus of running Windows 7 on it. I like Windows 7 but I miss Linux Mint a lot. I just finished installing Mint 10 and need assistance, if anyone has experience with this.
While in Windows 7, I was able to get the proper video driver that would allow me to rotate my display to portrait mode. I used this function a lot (by pressing CTRL-Alt-Left Arrow) to read electronic books and comic books. This is the one thing I am finding difficulty in doing in Mint 10 is rotating the display for this everyday use.
Can someone tell me if this is possible? And, if so, how to do it?

Do you have any options under your monitor? I can rotate my display on my Mini 9. Since Mint 10 is based on Ubuntu you might be able to as well.

I just noticed for the first time after seeing the screenshot from that link the option to rotate.

Under Linux, the following commands will rotate a laptop's builtin screen (I think it usually gets named LVDS1):

xrandr --output LVDS1 --rotate normal
xrandr --output LVDS1 --rotate left
xrandr --output LVDS1 --rotate right
xrandr --output LVDS1 --rotate inverted

To get that functionality via keyboard shortcuts, just add a keyboard shortcut which executes those commands (Probably under System > Prefs. > Key. Shortcuts).

No problem, it happens to me as well all to often. I like a keyboard shortcut like reflex suggested best.
