I just read the review as well. I'm sure real battery life is like 4-6 hours. I'm still at a loss of what to do.

Get a Alienware Aurora Intel Quad Core i7 2.8ghz 12GB RAM 1GB VC for about $1500-1700
-or-
Get the Alienware m11x with the better processor and 4GB ram for about $1000 (after tax/shipping)

Such a choice! My desktop is getting old, I have a first gen Pentium Dual Core with 3GB ram, XP, Nvidia 8800 gt. I figure the desktop would be the proper replacement and get more usage than getting the m11x. Damnit, I want both!

I hate it when guys like Engadget write reviews so tentatively. Journalism these days is so slanted. being critical or dubious about a product doesn't mean you're being objective about it. I understand the need to stay away from the 'fanboy effect' of all good marks, but after reading Hardware Heaven's review, Engadget's seems little more than a preview. You just can't please those guys. I mean come on! Alienware actually makes an 11.6" laptop FOR GAMING and they scoff at the fact that the case is shiny. Seriously guys? ><

</end rant>

Cheers,
Charlie

Default Alienware m11x battery life - 03-23-2011, 11:50 PM

Yeah most of the sites say the m11x has got over 8 hours of battery life. If you look at the videos on youtube and the customer reviews on amazon theyll say its only got about 6-7 hours though. Still pretty good.

Although I rarely ever use my R2 on battery, I am most impressed with how long it lasts. I've been totally happy with mine, and I haven't even gamed for 6 months.
